WHY

We’re in the business of preventive medicine, helping others change their lifestyles, so they can live long, healthy, happy lives.

For most of us, that has been driven by the family and friends we’ve lost to chronic illness.

Therefore, it has been important for us to honour their memory by championing a not- for-profit organisation committed to improving the lives of those living with Dementia.

Our mission is therefore two-fold:

  • to prevent further incidence of illness through our practice
  • to support families and individuals who are already ill by donating to not-for-profits.

THE STATS

Average life expectancy has increased dramatically. The fastest growing population in most countries of the world is the older old.

Back in 2003, it was predicted that by 2020, 12.4% of the world’s population would be over 60.

By 2020, there will be 45.9 million people over the age of 75.

However, quality of life in later years is on the decline.

By 2025, the number of people living with dementia in the UK will rise to over 1 million.

By 2030, 20 % of people over 65 will have dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

DEMENTIA UK

Dementia UK offers specialist one-to-one support and expert advice for people living with dementia.

Their renowned Admiral Nurses work hand in hand with families, helping them cope with the fear, uncertainty and difficult everyday reality of dementia.

They believe passionately that everyone who needs the support of an Admiral Nurse should get one, and their mission is to increase the number of Admiral Nurses across the UK.
