ASTONISHING DISCOVERY: The FACT is, experiencing stress can often lead to developing food sensitivities!
This can stem from a physical injury, mental strain, or even factors like taking antibiotics or living in a mold-infested environment. And what’s even more mind-blowing? Stress has the power to weaken your body’s innate immunity, which resides in your gut!
But wait, the impact of food sensitivities doesn’t just stop at bloating or gas. It can also present itself through neurological symptoms. That’s right, your food choices could be affecting your ability to remember, think clearly, or concentrate!
And the scariest part? These symptoms can surface anywhere from 2 to 72 hours after consuming a trigger food.
And in the case of Gluten, you’ve got up to 96 days of being impacted!
From a foggy mind to unpredictable mood swings, what you eat can make a significant difference to your mental well-being.
So pay attention and take note of what you put into your body!

My Food Sensitivity test last year showed that I was intolerant to healthy food like broccoli, grapes and apples. Even though I’d already eliminated Gluten and Dairy for years!
These sensitivities can be the cause or the result of a leaky gut 😯.
In my case, my leaky gut was being caused by the mercury (a heavy metal) in my dental work.
When I hear people say they have “Leaky Gut” or they’re working on their gut health… they’re usually only focused on taking probiotics or drinking kombucha… but they’re not aware that healing your gut requires so much more than that.

Heavy metals damage your gut lining, alter the levels of good bacteria in your gut, making it difficult for you to break down your food 😭.
Hello 👋 infections, bloating, reflux, eczema, fatigue, whacky hormones, sleeplessness, moodiness … I could go on 😩
How do you know if you’re being impacted by Mercury?
I did an HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis) and it was elevated. In addition to the amalgams I’ve had in my mouth since I was 14, I lived on tuna fish for years. Tuna is very high in mercury!
So, is it enough to eliminate the foods on your sensitivity list?
No!
You have to do some healing work by removing the main stressor. In my case, it was the dental work.
Why am I telling you this?
Because:
- Taking only ONE test
- Eliminating foods or
- Supplementing with probiotics
They aren’t enough to really heal your gut.
I went through several gut healing protocols before coming upon the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition systematic way of healing.
Multiple functional labs are the starting point! Rather than the “one-lab-at-a-time” approach I’d learned through another Functional Medicine training program.
I’d been stuck trying to get my car (body) to move by focusing on fixing my tires (my gut), when I really needed to look elsewhere for the contributors to my poor gut health…
